Coach comments: Women's Challenge Cup

Bratislava vs Merignac and Oldenburg vs Braila games are coming up this weekend in the women's Challenge Cup.

“We are very happy because of our successful season in the Challenge Cup competition. We are satisfied that we reached the semi-finals and we will try to do our best and play nice, interesting two matches. We will also try to reach a positive result for us.

“We believe that next matches will be very interesting not only for the players, but for the spectators too.”

Mérignac

“Semi-finals, what a nice feeling! Taking in consideration our ranking in the French championship and also our young team that we have this season with all our difficulties, qualifying among the last four teams of the Challenge Cup is a real success.

“Bratislava have just eliminated Dijon and will be a high level opponent. And it will be such a pleasure to meet Petra Benuskova again who played for Mérignac Handball in the season 2002-2003. May the best team win, long live the European Cup!”

Braila

“Our team’s qualification for the Challenge Cup Semi-finals is not only a sports performance, but it is also a important from the point of view of the relations between European clubs, between people who represent them and between the European cities and countries.

“Our matches with Oldenburg will be very difficult because all the teams that reached this level in the competition are similar of value. The team that will concentrate more and make fewer mistakes will win.”
